About Cristoniel S Abrenica
Cristoniel Abrenica, MD, FAAP, is board-certified in general pediatrics. He joined the University of Florida division of pediatric gastroenterology in July 2020 as an assistant professor in the department of pediatrics.
Dr. Abrenica earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. After an internship at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, he moved to Chicago, where he completed pediatric residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital. He then finished a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health in Houston.
Dr. Abrenica sees patients at our UF Health Pediatric Specialties practices in Gainesville and Tallahassee. He is especially interested in general gastrointestinal disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis and acute and recurrent pancreatitis.
He is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Gastroenterology. In his spare time, he enjoys singing, reading, traveling, cooking and staying in shape.
